Moose Landing Marina Lands Top Honors
August 12, 2010 -
NAPLES -- Moose Landing Marina on Brandy Pond calls itself the "Pontoon Capital of New England" for good reason!
Located on Brandy Pond off Route 302 here, Moose Landing Marina has garnered three top sales and customer service awards from Godfrey Marine of Elkhart, Indiana, aone of the country's largest manufacturers of recreational watercraft.
Sales Manager Will Monson said Moose Landing Marina scored a "perfect 100%" in the Customer Service Index Award category, while also taking the Platinum Award for sales volume, and placing Number Three in the country for sales of pontoon boats.
Owner Dan Craffey said he is extremely proud of his entire team for taking top honors in three categories, out of all the Godfrey Marine boat dealers nationwide.
"Right here in Little old Naples, Maine--it's kind of cool--it shows anything's possible," Craffey said, of his marina capturing honors vied for by large and small boat dealers from across the country.
Craffey, who has owned Moose Landing Marina for eight years now, had Joe Breunig, former longtime owner of Naples Marina whom he has known for 25 years, join his team, just last year.
Breunig, who has been in the boat dealership business for 26 years, stated, "I've known Dan since 1985, when I sold him a boat at Naples Marina."
"I'm coming up on my first anniversary at Moose Landing Marina," Breunig stated. "It's great to get these awards!"
"We've scored a perfect 100, in the customer service index," said Monson. "No one's ever done that before!"
The Platinum Award means we were in the Top 10 sales, by volume--Number 6 out of the top 280 dealers," Monson said. "The Pontoon Dealer Award showed that we're third in sales, worldwide."
Moose Landing Marina does not just market its boat sales to inland waterway boating enthusiasts, Craffey said.
"We have wonderful customers who appreciate the water and the lifestyle," stated Craffey. "We sell a lot of boats to the ocean goers, too--all over New England and down the East Coast."
"We promote family boating," Craffey said. "We keep a real good selection of boats, and we offer in-house financing. We do the whole package for family boating--we service it, we store it, we deliver it to your house. We can teach anyone how to use a boat, as well."
"We participate in the Boston Boat Show, the Portland Boat Show and the Rockland Boat Show," Breunig stated.
Monson said Moose Landing Marina sells three lines of Godfrey's pontoon boats, as well as sports boats and cruisers by Monterey, Glastron and Rinker.
Moose Landing Marina just had its very first Silvertron Motor Yacht delivered, last week.
"We are also a Yamaha Outboard dealer, and we can service anything we sell," Monson said, "which includes Evinrude, Volvo, Honda and Mercuriser. We also offer Kawasaki jet skis."
"We have a huge rental business as well," Craffey said. "We took over the boat rental business at Point Sebago Resort, and we have a large rental business here at the marina."
Craffey is proud of the topnotch service that Sindlinger and his crew provide.
"We have six certified service technicians," Craffey stated. "We are the only marina in the area that is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week for service all year-round, and our store is open seven days, as well. We sell a lot of boats in the winter, too. We have a website, and we're also on Facebook."
"We have self-serve gas, too, that can be purchased with a credit card," he added.
More improvements coming
"We replaced boat slips, and built new docking," Craffey pointed out. "We are now getting ready to build a 300-unit boat rack storage facility this fall. We are preparing to break ground, in September."
Moose Landing Marina currently employs over 30 people, at its Naples location and at Point Sebago, according to Craffey.
"We have a 20-acre facility here, with great parking, and we're putting in a brand new boat ramp," Craffey stated.
"When I first bought the marina eight years ago, there were four employees," said Craffey. "We have increased, substantially. We are growing every year--even in a down economy--and we grabbed market share. We have thrived--we haven't laid off people--we've added jobs."
Craffey is also proud of Moose Landing Mairna's corporate citizenship, particularly being recognized in Loon Echo Land Trust's July newsletter as one of its majour contributors. His employees also try to educate customers about the dangers of milfoil, he said.
"Everybody that works here is involved," said Craffey, with great pride in his voice.
