Plum Creek donates to Lake George campaign

May 02, 2007 - The Plum Creek Foundation has awarded $1500 to the Lake George Corporation to be used to fund Lake George Regional Park Trails Campaign, a program that supports the park's trail maintenance and future growth.

The money will be used to buy a brush saw and provide trail maintenance funding, according to Jeff McCabe director of the Lake George Corporation

The trails campaign is a way the park can build the trails endowment, recruit volunteers, purchase equipment and develop a plan for trail maintenance throughout the park, McCabe said. The endowment portion will help the park maintain and grow its 10 km of trails on the estimated 320 acre park which is comprised of forest land and shoreline property.

Park visitors and staff use the trails year-round for hiking, walking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing.
